the ultimate chocolate protein smoothie bowl
A delicious protein packed bowl that includes your 4 a day in just one bowl. It is preferred to have in warm weather as it’s almost like ice-cream so not great in cold winter mornings.
Serves 1
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1/2 frozen avocado
Handful frozen blueberries
75ml plant-based milk (I typically use the Alpro Coconut for this recipe) - Try to use minimal liquid if you want to achieve that ice-cream like consistency.
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use MyVegan pea protein isolate)
1 TBSP cocoa powder
Pinch of sea salt
1 TBSP nut butter (I use Meridian smooth peanut butter)
4 ice cubes
Optional: 1 charcoal capsule (de-canted, I use the Holland & Barrett ones, 1 TSP ground flaxseed.
Toppings: granola, chia seeds, sesame seeds, sea salt, berries, cocoa nibs etc.
Method:
Blend all the ingredients in a blender for about a minute, combining/shaking half-way to make sure the ingredients at the bottom of the blender have blended well until it has reached a thick ice cream-like consistency (if using a Nutri-bullet).
Pour into a bowl and top with granola, berries, chia seeds etc.
