Healthy French Toast
Serves 1
Method:
Whisk the egg/flaxseed egg with the rest of the ingredients apart from the bread and oil, in a rectangular container to fit the bread in.
Soak the sliced bread/brioche and turn the other side.
Heat a small/medium frying pan with the oil/butter (depending on how many youโre making) over a medium-high heat.
Once the pan is hot, gently place the soaked slices on the pan and fry for a minute or so on each side till theyโre nice and golden brown.
Plate up and serve with your favourite toppings! (Mine is a quick warm berry compote situation - heating some frozen mixed berries on a small saucepan with some maple syrup and job done!) Plus coconut yoghurt of course!
Ingredients:
1-2 Slices of Bread/Brioche (I used Challah bread - goes perfectly!)
1 Egg (or alternatively if Vegan use 1 tsp Ground Flaxseeds with 2 TBSP water in a small bowl and mix. Let it sit for 5 minutes)
1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 TBSP Milk
2 sprays of Light Cooking Oil/1/2 tsp Butter or Coconut Oil
A pinch of salt (for taste)
1 tsp Maple Syrup (optional)
